At the end of August we took a trip to California with my dad’s side of the family. The last time we all got together to go on a trip was when I was 9, so it was definitely overdue! I was just passed my first trimester so I was finally starting to get some energy + appetite back and was so ready to get out of the house! I was also pumped about getting out of the heat and near the beach. The Arizona heat in August is killer when your NOT pregnant and I was doonnneeeee with it. We all stayed together in a house in Laguna Beach. It was the best being able to go on walks in the morning and eat dinner on the porch at night, all whilst feeling the cool salty air. I truly believe there is no medicine that can heal you both mentally + physically quite like the beach can. Barefoot in the sand, breeze in your hair, no makeup, minimal clothing, sweet + salty smells, and the therapeutic crash of the waves. My stresses are easing just typing that. We got to spend a few afternoons trying out different beaches in the area. Most of us hadn’t been to Laguna so it was fun to explore!First sign of the baby bump!…Which was mostly just me with a full bladder. But fake it till you make it!So good at taking pictures!!Much of our time at the beach was spent being yelled at while Grammie tried to take our picture, followed by her trying to attack us with seaweed, followed by us having to save her from falling/drowning in the ocean. Good times. But really, if I can look like my Grammie in a swimsuit when I’m in my 70’s, I think I’ll be just fine. Magical sunset views from our evening walks. The trip (and the people there) wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for these crazy cats. ❤And a Stewart trip to California wouldn’t be complete without a stop by the Happiest Place on Earth. It was one of the more interesting trips that I’ve taken to Disneyland, being pregnant and all. I decided to take it easy and not ride too many rides and I wasn’t sure how long I’d last on my feet, seeing as just a few weeks ago I was couch-ridden. So I decided to dedicate this particular trip to eating all the good food I possibly could. It was honestly semi relaxing to not have to stressed about running from ride to ride. I just took my sweet time and would let everyone borrow my FastPasses. If I’ve got to spend a day eating and taking it easy, I’ll do it at Disneyland any day!Shout out to Gramps for bringing his wheelchair and getting us into the front of lines all morning!Juan’s traditional turkey leg breakfast. My 5th churro.
