Amidst everything that had been going on the last few months, Juan + I were counting down the days until Valentine’s Day. Months and months in advanced we had bought tickets to Hamilton at Gammage. And it could not have come at a better time. I was finally feeling well enough to venture out of the house. And with the constant visitors, it was nice to have a night just the two of us. It felt so good to get dressed up and just talk and be together. Valentine’s Day has never been anything extravagant or over the top for us. We’ve never really given gifts or cards. But I felt like I should make Juan a little card, nothing crazy, just expressing how I’d felt over the past few weeks. He came home from work that evening with some similar just for me. Which was totally unexpected and the perfect surprise. That whole day was filled with little happy moments, which seemed to have been lacking since the baby.

Before the show we went out for sushi (my favorite!) and had the best chat. I just love that boy so much. Hamilton was everything we thought it would be and more. And that’s saying something coming from the boy who listened to the soundtrack at least once a day for 5 months. Seeing it all come together in person just renewed our love for it. The choreography was amazing. And I think it’s safe to say we both teared up on more than one occasion. It was my favorite Valentine’s day to date. ❤
